About This Project
PROBLEM: for the remediation of a petrochemical site, the customer needed a system for the extraction of groundwater at depths between 5 and 15 meters on half of the perimeter of the plant (about 1,000m). The water drawn had to be collected by a very dense barrier but without removing excessive quantities of liquid, thus providing a system that was able to drain small quantities of water for long periods.
A fundamental feature of this type of system is the possibility of suction up to a depth much greater than that which can be reached by a traditional pump.
SOUTION: wellpoint system installation with ejector technology consisting of:
- 16 pumping stations
- 310 wellpoint eductor
- 1000mt in length
- total power 290kW
- max flow 115 cubic meters / hou
Each station has been sized and built to treat the amount of water necessary for the remediation of the site. This type of system, besides having very low maintenance costs, allows the capillary extraction of small quantities of water for long periods.
The stations are controlled by a centralized DCS which, using the instruments installed in the field (flow meters, tank level probes, groundwater piezometric probes, temperature sensor), manages the entire system autonomously.
RISULT: creation of an automated hydraulic barrier that reclaims the surface water table for the entire required length up to great depths.
